EdgeCAM's tooling utilities provide an environment for storing and using tooling related data, for example on individual tools, on materials and on inserts. (All this information can be collected together into a 'job', perhaps relating to a specific part).
To use the data you associate it to your part - for example the data on the selected tool is used by EdgeCAM to calculate the toolpath's radius offseting. With a material also specified, speed and feed data for the tool/material combination can be retrieved.
You can also store information for your own reference purposes, over and above that required by EdgeCAM.
There is 'cross-linking' between the various utilities; for example when creating a tool in ToolStore, you can link the tool to an insert, using a dialog from Technology Assistant.
To get started, you might want to try Window's Start menu ► All Programs ► EdgeCAM ► EdgeCAM Tutorials ► ToolStore Tutorials.
The illustration below provides a general overview of the way the four tooling utilities work together. Hover the cursor over text in the illustration - some of the text links to further information.
