To populate the Instructions tab of the Job dialog:
Make sure that in the System Menu, Job Updates ► EdgeCAM Updates Job Instructions is checked.
Make sure that the job is linked to a part.
In EdgeCAM, generate NC code for the part.
Information such as Instruction Number, Position, Description, Comment, Speed and Feed, Gauge Length and Cycle Time will be stored for each instruction. For multiple turret sequences, instructions for all turrets will be stored. Instructions in job instruction lists and in the EdgeCAM instructions browser will be numbered the same.
A right-hand mouse click on the Instruction list opens the context menu. Select the Columns option to open the to open the Configure Columns dialog which contains a list of available columns for display. Check the categories you want to display. You can use the up and down arrows in the centre of the dialog to move a highlighted entry up and down the list. This will change its position in the window. However, only sorting by Instruction Number will maintain the list in the order of execution. Please note that this column cannot be turned off.
Select the Filtering option to display a dialog that allows you to filter the instruction list displayed in the Job Manager and the job reports. Simply specify the instruction types you want to display in the list by checking the appropriate option(s). Also see Job Instructions Filtering.
Job Instructions Database
Job instructions are held in a separate database with a 'jbi_' prefix (so if the tools are in 'Turn.mdb' then the instructions are in 'jbi_Turn.mdb'). You must not change this by renaming, or independently moving, one database file. Nor should you use the 'jbi' prefix yourself in database file names. If the 'jbi' file is missing the Update job Instructions option is not available. See Moving Databases - Folder Structure for more information.
