If you want to profile geometry when engraving, use the 2D Profile (Mill Cycles menu) command with Engrave in the Advanced tab checked. You must have a taper tool loaded before you can select Engrave.
The cycle generates the toolpath at the specified Depth below the nominated profiles.
Checking Engrave modifies the toolpath at the internal corners of the profile. It moves from the current depth to the profile level, taking into consideration the form of the taper tool. It then returns along the same path to the cutting depth.
If you are cutting reliefs, set the Offset parameter to minus the tool’s larger radius.
