When using this command for creating text annotations you should set the CPL to Drawing before starting. Select the CPL drop-down list CPL from the Standard toolbar. This ensures that a text annotation is created in the same way as other dimensioning entities within the drawing frame. If you leave the current CPL active, a text entity is created with a fixed location and orientation within the part on that CPL.

The Create Text Create Text command icon command on the Dimensioning toolbar is used to create text entities within the part.

 
To create text

  1. Select the Create Text Create Text command icon command. The parameters for the command are displayed.

  2. Press Edit to display the text editing window. Type in the text (up to 500 characters) in the String field. You can produce subscripts and superscripts. You can also specify where the text is to be displayed (example).

  1. Click OK to accept the text.

  2. If required, set these parameters.

  3. Click OK to accept the parameters.

  4. Digitise one or more locations at which to place the text.

  5. Perform a finish.
