Using the Remote Command Monitor

www.kxcad.net Home > CAM Index > EdgeCAM Index >

When you enable remote commands for a Machine, the Remote Command Monitor application (EdgeRmt.exe) is added to the Startup group and automatically executed.

When run, EdgeRmt loads all the local Machine files (.mdv). Only the Machines configured for Remote Commands are run. For each Machine with remote command enabled, the monitor NetCode task is launched to run in the background.

When a Monitor task is running, the output is not the same as that using a Machine menu. However, you can get feedback on a Machine's activities by double-clicking on the Monitor. The Monitor is minimised by default, and appears as an icon in the main taskbar status area, not on the taskbar itself:

Now select the required Machine from the list:

Remote Machine Monitoring dialog

The list shows all the local Machines that have remote commands enabled, and for which a monitor (‘m’ suffix) task has been found and executed. The status line at the bottom displays the last message from the selected Machine’s task.

Note that to close down the Monitor, click on the icon in the top left:

and select Exit from the menu. Do not click on the Minimise icon icon in the top right of the screen as this simply minimises the application.
