The Machine Tree contains the information for Machine Tool Simulation. The Machine Tree appears both in Code Wizard and in EdgeCAM. The Machine Tree:
Maps out the 'kinematic' aspects of the machine tool (see more...).
Organises the properties of the machine components (see more...).
Allows you to preview the axis movements of the machine.
Is used in the same way for milling and turning (in re-arranging the tree for example). The only differences are in the dialogs and menus. (There is a version of this topic based on a typical milling machine tree).
In Code Wizard you:
Set up the tree to match your machine's kinematics.
Note, take care not to create a nonsensical branch structure.
Use the tree in combination with the Properties window to set property values. (In EdgeCAM these may or may not be editable. For example Turret Radius is not editable, Turret Colour is editable.)
Use the tree to set up the parametric graphics, and/or (optionally) integrate your own custom machine tool graphics.
You cannot use the Machine Tree if you are in the wizard (that starts on opening a template). Exit the wizard (or finish it) to use the Machine Tree. The Machine Tree appears in the Machine Setup window.
