Major New Capabilities

Multi-axis multi-turret turning.

Full machine simulation

Shared network tooling and feed/speed database.

General

Support for motion controllers from 3Dconnexion such as the SpaceBall, SpaceMouse and SpaceTraveler.

Support for a shared network database of tools and feeds & speeds.

Feed/Speed database: materials: hidden bit for a material.

Gradient background color for FeatureCAM graphics window. You can set the lower and upper color using the Default colors dialog box.

Zoom wheel: ability to reverse the interpretation of the mouse wheel to match that of SolidWorks.  Use the CTRL-RIGHTMOUSE click to bring up the menu and then select Reverse Mouse Wheel.  

Import

Unigraphics direct import for UG NX2.

Pro/E Wildfire 2.

Support for SolidWorks configurations.

Support for SolidEdge V17.

Import of SolidWorks assemblies WITHOUT SolidWorks on the PC.

Simulation

Full machine simulation.  This includes the graphical simulation of subspindles and bar pullers.  

Metallic rendering.

Dynamic rotation without hitting pause.  During 3D toolpath simulation dynamic viewing can be performed directly, without clicking pause.  

2-Axis Milling

Cutter compensation for 2.5-axis roughing

Per-feature Z rapid plane

Face Features now support multiple roughing and finishing Diameters.  Mult. rough diameters and Mult. finish diameters now applies to facing operations.

Bottom finish allowance for the semi-finish pass in 2.5D.

The z-rapid plane attribute is now available at the operation level.  

Multiple region support for solid stock.

Turning

Multi-axis multi-turret turning.

Ability to use standard turning tools to thread along a form shape.

Turning convention of CW and CCW has been modified.  FeatureTURN now comes with standard right-handed tools.  

OD features can now be moved from main spindle to sub spindle via drag/drop in the part view bar.   

Max depth of cut is now a turning tool property.

Turning start and end points can now be specified as a linear curve that will be followed on entry or exit.  

Round tool roughing strategy for hard materials.  

3-Axis Milling

Numerous performance enhancements for large files.

Performance enhancements for parallel and Z level rough techniques.

Z-Level finishing first-feed override now applies in the case of multiple contours/regions.  Formerly it only applied to the first contour/region.

Enhancements to z-level interleaved toolpaths and z-level finishing toolpaths:

Feature Recognition

Advances in feature recognition with regard to drafted sidewalls.

Face feature recognition with inside stock curves.

Wire EDM

Unification of wire EDM post processor files into the XBUILD post processor files.

Support for wire EDM UDFs and UDOs.

Ability to create wire EDM features using the API.

Variation in stop codes for a stop operation.  

5-Axis Positioning

Full machine simulation shows accurate simulation of 5-axis positioning parts. Implemented using a new "machine design" document type with a .md extension.

Support for turning feature creation.

Added setup-changed event and a new setup event

Added ability to set stock size.

Added the ability to specify more than one tool group for a UserOperation
