In FeatureCAM, toolpaths are generated from features, not curves, so you create your part model using features. Features provide additional information for automating the generation of toolpaths for your part.
Features are simply common shop terms for describing the characteristics of a part including holes, pockets and slots. The figure below shows examples of features. Using features, you are freed from specifying the individual manufacturing operations associated with that feature type because FeatureCAM generates these operations automatically.
