FeatureCAM follows this genera process:
Pick feeds and speeds based upon the material being machined.
Generate a facing pass, possibly in multiple z steps depending upon the amount of material to remove.
There are some variations on this process. The process can be controlled in the Stepover tab of the Default Attributes, and on the Tools, Milling, Strategy and Misc. property tabs for the feature.. The tooling database also affects the decisions, and the feed/speed database helps to determine the feeds and speeds used.
