Offset registers can now be set on a per tool basis
Constant depth of cut for turning and boring operations
Direct control over each roughing pass depth
B-axis holes are now automatically recognized
The subspindle location dialog has been improved to show both the coordinates relative to both the main spindle coordinate system and the NC code coordinate system.
The tool mapping dialog now has a new look . The operations for each tool are now listed and you can drag and drop the tools to rearrange them.
Customizable complex hole feature recognition. Complex hole recognition is implemented as a UDF using FeatureCAM's API Please visit http://featurecam.com/udf for complete details and examples.
Slice chaining - Horizontal section
Stitching of IGES surfaces into multiple solids/sheets during import
Apply same transformation for rerecognition
FeatureWIRE now has two options for interactive feature recognition.
Hole pattern recognition in SolidWorks import.
Handle hole patterns in rerecognition
B-axis holes are now automatically recognized
FeatureCAM can now import models in paper space in dxf or dwg files.
The post processing improvements are documented in the Xbuild documentation but here is a summary of the improvements:
Many new reserved words
Fewer mouse clicks to accomplish tasks.
It is now easier edit the post and then repost the NC code.
ELSE keyword added
INCLUDE capability to eliminate duplicated code blocks
Indenting is now supported
Shadows can now be displayed during a 3D simulation
Remove objects during machine simulation
A machine model file can now be associated with a .cnc file.
Ability to turn off operations list updating
3D toolpath generation is roughly 100% faster
The tool should now stay closer to the tombstone by only rapiding to the Z index clearance plane prior to a tombstone rotation. In previous versions instead of rapiding to the lower Z rapid plane between features on the same face, it would occasionally rapid to the higher plane. Now the tool will only rapid to the higher Z index clearance plane if the next move is an indexing one.
There is now a checkbox for using an alternative set of rotations for accessing a face.
Solids can now be selected directly in the graphics window.
In addition to ball-end tools all 3D operations now support, tapered, flat-end, and bullnose tools.
Z-level finish and rough - support for high speed machining including corner radius, corner correction, toolpath corner % and trochoidal cut.
Z-level rough
Can stepover > 50% of tool diameter without leaving islands.
New flat surface support option to just machine the flat areas (not the whole level).
Improved Z semi finish (Multiple rough) which reduces air-cutting.
Corner remachining. This new functionality provides a variety of new remachining options and supports flat end tools.
New pencil milling that supports boundary curves and slope limits. Pencil milling can also be performed with flat end tools.
Flowline - Provides a way to handle undercuts with slotting or lollipop cutters.
Rotary milling for indexed parts and turn/mill parts.
New interleave milling options including the support of check and excluded surfaces.
Control of the center point of radial milling.
3D Ramping moves are now performed with a circular move.
