Drawing: FeatureCAM has a Windows’ native drawing interface. The snaps are separate from the geometry creation methods, for example, any geometry can be snapped tangent to curves and arcs. In other systems, you may only be able to use tangent snaps when creating circles or arcs, not lines. FeatureCAM includes single line font support as a Windows font for simple text engraving support.
Import: Autocad and IGES files are supported for file import in FeatureCAM
Manufacturing: FeatureCAM has a unique feature-based approach to manufacturing. FeatureCAM knows how to make pockets, bosses, sides, holes, and so on. All you have to do is specify the dimensions of the feature and FeatureCAM does the rest, breaking the feature down into the operations required to manufacture it. You can set up defaults that represent your manufacturing preferences. These defaults make FeatureCAM automatically manufacture parts just the way you would.
For 3D manufacturing, you specify the milling method you prefer and add the number of roughing and finishing operations in just the areas you want to bring your 3D parts to completion just the way you want to.
