Click this option from the Help menu to use your Internet connection to check and see if there is a more recent version of FeatureCAM that you can download free of charge. FeatureCAM uses a facility called Webupdate to do the updating. In general it is best to already be connected to the Internet before using the. You can also have FeatureCAM establish your Internet connection prior to checking for the latest version. If there is a more recent version of FeatureCAM, your browser will be directed to the FeatureCAM website so that you can inidiate the download.
If you are attempting to update a version of FeatureCAM that came on CD or an official release from the FeatureCAM website, then you offered to download a patch. A patch should be much smaller than downloading the entire program. If you are running a beta version or a version that was not generally released, then you must download the entire program.
Solid Plugin
The Solid Plugin module is required for importing or creating solid models. If you have a working version of this module already installed, then Check for latest version will also update this module. Specifically, select About FeatureCAM from the Help menu. If it says either NOT INSTALLED or INCORRECT VERSION, next to Solid Plugin, then Check for latest version will not install it or update it to the correct version.
