For boss and pocket features, FeatureCAM provides two different milling methods for roughing.
The offset method uses a series of offset curves as the shape of the toolpaths. The zig-zag method uses straight toolpaths that are parallel to each other. Regardless of the roughing method selected, the feature is roughed to within the finish allowance of the boundary.
