Finishing the Stitching
- Click on the Measure button
on the TriFIX toolbar.
- In the Measure dialog box, click on the Auto button. CopyCAD measures the smallest gap and displays it in the Distance box.
- Make a note of the distance, then click on the Close button to remove the Measure dialog box.
- In the Auto Stitch dialog box, change the Start Tolerance to 0.11, a value slightly higher than the smallest gap.
- Change the Finish Tolerance to 0.2 and leave the Step as 0.01.
- As the start tolerance is now relatively large, we do not want CopyCAD to delete and merge duplicate triangle nodes, as this could distort the model further. Click on the Remove duplicate nodes check box to de-select it.
- Click on the Apply button to start stitching again.
- When the stitching is complete, close the Auto Stitch dialog box.
In the Mesh Status dialog box's Boundaries tab, you can see that there are three remaining gaps in the model, one with three sides, one with four sides and the other with eight sides. These are holes in the triangle mesh rather than small gaps, which can be stitched.
You must now use the Fill Holes dialog box to complete the repair of this triangle model.
