For each tool you can set the shape of the brush, its diameter, the strength of the action, and the smoothness of the action.
The Brush Shape setting defines whether the brush is Round or Square. You may want to choose a square brush when working on models with rectilinear shapes such as smoothing the example Plate.stl model in the top right hand corner.
The Diameter setting defines the width of the brush. The triangles under the brush will be raised or lowered depending on the tool selected.
The Strength setting affects the amount that the triangle node is moved:
The Smoothness setting defines how the action is blended out at the edge of the brush. At 0, all triangles under the brush will be raised or lowered equally: there will be no blending at the edge of the brush. At 100, the full strength will only be applied at the centre of the brush and the triangles towards the edge will be blended into the rest of the triangle model.

At the bottom of the dialog box, you can use the Show Deviations From Original area to view how your editing has affected the model. Click here for details.
