You can build up an area of the triangle model, giving the effect of depositing material to the model. Using the Deposit tool does not increase the number of triangles but lifts the existing triangle nodes. The orientation of the triangle model affects the way the area is built up as CopyCAD uses the current view in the Graphics window. You can see this if you rotate the model after the editing action.
Important: Make sure that you click on Accept before changing to another model, or using a different CopyCAD dialog box. If you do not, you will lose your edits.
You can limit the deviation so that the deposit action will only move the triangle nodes from their original positions by a set distance. For more details, click here.
At the bottom of the dialog box, you can use the Show Deviations From Original area to view how your editing has affected the model. For more details, click here.
To use the Deposit tool:
on the Main toolbar
to display its dialog box, then click on the Deposit tab.Note: When you open this dialog box, CopyCAD automatically shades the triangle model so that you will be able to see the results of the smoothing.
Note: To change the default setting, click and drag the slider along the scale. The diameter of the brush is displayed to the right of the scale.
The strength determines the amount each node is raised as a percentage of the brush radius.
The smoothness determines whether there is any reduction in the strength towards the edges of the brush. At 0% smoothness, full strength is maintained right to the edge of the brush.
If you want to undo the deposit action, you can use the Erase tool. For further details, click here.
Note: If you want to erase the changes, you must do so before accepting the edits. When you click on Accept, CopyCAD saves the edits and closes the Interactive Triangle Editing dialog box.
