Surface Triangulation

When you click on the Surface Triangulation button , CopyCAD displays the Surface Triangulation dialog box. This dialog box allows you to triangulate all the surfaces in the current model.

You can set the following options for the triangulation:

• Produce trimmed surface triangulation – select this check box to triangulate trimmed DGK or IGES surfaces drawn with dashed surface boundaries.
  
  
• Tolerance – enter a tolerance value to use when generating the triangles, minimising the number of triangles used.
  
  
• Limit triangle length – select this check box to keep to a minimum the number of long thin triangles. Type the maximum acceptable triangle length in the Maximum triangle length box.
  
  
• Limit triangle aspect ratios – select this check box to set the maximum triangle aspect ratio allowed in the box below. The greater the value you enter, the thinner the triangles allowed. For more information about aspect ratios, here.
