You can extract a grid structure by resampling a scanline model with a specified sampling stepover. This option is useful when you have a scanline structure with a constant stepover in one axis and you want to create a grid using the same stepover in the other axis.
You can use the Distance Point to Point/Origin button
to measure the distance between two points on adjacent scanlines to find out the stepover value in the first axis.
To see an example where a grid has been extracted from a scanline model with a constant stepover in Y, using the same stepover in X, click here.
To extract an XY Grid from Scanlines:
, at the bottom of the Graphics window.
on the Main toolbar to display its side toolbar.
to display the Information window which shows the distance in X or Y between the two points.
, to display Reorder Model dialog box.Note: If you want an even grid, make this the same as the scanline stepover.
