Importing the Profile

You can now import a curve, created in your CAD package, that runs around the profile of the depression in the centre of the model. This profile will be used to create a fillet surface.

In previous versions of CopyCAD, you would have had to create surfaces around this area manually. Creating a fillet surface provides a quick way to produce an accurate and smooth surface over this area.

To import the profile as a curve:

1. Select the File – Examples menu option.
   
   
2. In the Open Example dialog box, click on the phone_mod_profile.pic file, then click on the Open button.
   
   
3. In the CopyCAD Explorer, double-click on the icon to the left of the refine_tri_phone-mod-scan model. This selects and displays the model.
   
   
4. Click on the Draw Curves button on the Draw toolbar to display the profile in addition to the surfaces.

You are now ready to take the surfaces and the profile curve into the new editing module, PS-Surfacer.
