STL Export Options
The STL Export Options dialog box is displayed when you select File - Export Current Model - Triangles - STL Format (Stereo Lithography).
You can select the following options:
- From the Export Format list box you can select the format for the STL file:
- Binary, a relatively compact format that should be used wherever possible
- ASCII, to produce a much larger file in a format that all applications support.
- In the Data reduction area you can click on the Reduce number of triangles check box to select it and then type the tolerance to use in when reducing the number of triangles in the Tolerance box.
- You can click on the Move model into positive quadrant check box to select it, if you want to avoid the use of negative co-ordinates which causes some STL machines major problems.
When you are satisfied with the options you have set, click on the Accept button to display the Save Triangles - STL Format (Stereo Lithography) dialog box. This is a standard WindowsÔ Export Current Model dialog box which you use to name the file and specify where you want to save it.
