What CopyCAD Does

CopyCAD is versatile Reverse Engineering application, which can be used in conjunction with any co-ordinate measuring machine, be it optical, laser or a touch trigger scanner. With CopyCAD you can carry out a wide range of applications including:

• Generating engineering surfaces from scanned conceptual models
  
  
• Capturing the feature content of hand-optimised prototypes
  
  
• Creating a tool impression from a scanned component
  
  
• Wrapping complex 3D logos and artwork onto surfaces and digitised models
  
  
• Triangulating point clouds for Rapid Prototyping, 3D visualisation, Product Archiving, Copy Milling, Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics
  
  
• Comparing a part or surface feature to the tool or CAD model.

CopyCAD is part of Delcam's PowerSolution, which provides software to cover the full manufacturing cycle, from conceptual design to inspected product. CopyCAD models can be transferred using a single click to PowerMILL for milling or PowerSHAPE for CAD design.

If you do not have PowerSHAPE, you can purchase the PS-Surfacer module, which provides CAD-style editing tools that you can use to amend and create complex surfaces.

ArtCAM 3D reliefs can be opened in CopyCAD and wrapped onto either triangle or surface models, avoiding the need for sculpting prototypes by hand. Point clouds can be manipulated in CopyCAD, then opened in PowerINSPECT for quality inspection.
