Transfer Material of Negative Boolean

In the Object Attributes dialog under the General tab there is a option called "Transfer Material of Negative Boolean". When selected, this transfers the material of the negative Boolean object in a group to the area of contact on the positive Boolean object.

For example, in the first image below, a green positive sphere is Booleaned by a red negative sphere giving a kind of green bowl with a red interior. The second image shows the same Boolean group but this time, the Transfer Material of Negative Boolean option is disabled, so the interior of the bowl is green.

To enable transfer material of negative Boolean:

  1. Select an object.
  2. Click the A icon that appears next to its bounding box.
  3. On the General Tab, enable the Negative radio button. Transfer Material of Negative Boolean will be selected by default.

  4. Click the OK icon to exit the Object Attributes dialog.
  5. Select all objects that are to be part of the group and click the G button next to the selected objects' bounding box.

To disable transfer material of negative Boolean:

  1. Select an object.
  2. Click the A icon that appears next to its bounding box.
  3. On the General Tab, enable the Negative radio button. Transfer Material of Negative Boolean will be selected by default.
  4. Click on the checkmark next to Transfer Material of Negative Boolean to disable the option.

  5. Click the OK icon to exit the Object Attributes dialog.
