Installing Bryce

Macintosh®

  1. Double-click the Bryce 6.1 Installer icon to install Bryce 6.1 (installer filename: br_ap006_Br6_App.sit)
  2. When the splash screen appears, click Continue.
  3. Read the Software License Agreement. Read the terms then scroll all the way to the bottom of the agreement to activate the Accept button. Click the Accept button to accept the terms of the agreement and continue.
  4. At this point, If you are want to uninstall Bryce, change the Easy Install located in the upper right corner of the current dialog to "Uninstall" then click on the Uninstall button to remove that version of Bryce. After unistalling, you can switch back to Easy Install to reinstall Bryce.
  5. To finish the install process, select a new install location from the drop-down dialog at the bottom left of the window. Once you've verified the install location, click the Install button.
  6. You may have a dialog  pop up telling you that you need to install the current version of DAZ|Studio. If you know you have Studio already installed, you can skip this step, otherwise click Yes to install DAZ|Studio.
  7. When the installers were compiled, the most current version of DAZ|Studio available was included. If you have a newer version already installed on your computer, you should select No.
  8. When the installer has finished, you will need to restart your operating system in order to use the DAZ|Studio integration.
  9. Next, install the preset files: br_ap006_Br6_Presets1.sit, br_ap006_Br6_Presets2.sit, br_ap006_Br6_Presets3.sit, and br_ap006_Br6_Presets4.sit. Bryce 6 will not work correctly without these presets and will crash when you attempt to access any of the libraries.
  10. Finally, install the Content files: br_ap006_Br6_Content1.sit, br_ap006_Br6_Content2.sit, and br_ap006_Br6_Content3.sit and the Sample Scenes: br_ap006_Br6_SmpScn.sit.
  11. For users who intend to use Bryce with multiple user accounts. Locate the file "CopyLibFiles.command" in your Bryce 6 folder and run it. The system password will be required. (This will copy needed system files to a hidden folder making them accessable to all users so that Bryce will run and function correctly for all users.)

Windows®

  1. Double-click the Bryce 6.1 Installer icon to install Bryce 6.0 (installer filename: br_ap006_Br6_App.exe).
  2. If you have a previous version of Bryce installed, you will get a "Previous Installation Detected" message. If you wish to keep the previous version installed, click on Yes. It is highly recommended that if the previous version is Bryce 6.0 or 6.0.1, that you choose No so that the Bryce 6.0/6.0.1  version is unistalled and the Bryce 6.1 installation installed. Just make sure you backup your Preset folders before uninstalling the previous version.
  3. When the splash screen appears, click Next.
  4. Read the welcome screen, then click the Next button to continue.
  5. Read the Software License Agreement. Then click the Yes button to accept the terms of the agreement and continue.
  6. Select the install Destination Directory, then click Next to continue.
  7. Select the Program Folder, then click Next to continue.
  8. Click the Next button to begin installing the Application.
  9. Choose whether to add the Bryce 6.0 icon to your Desktop and click Yes or No.
  10. Click on OK to install the DAZ|Studio character plugin software (required for Bryce 6.0 to run). If you already have the latest version of DS installed, cancel the DS installation and skip to step 18.
  11. When the sub-installer splash screen appears, click Next.
  12. Read the welcome screen, then click the Next button to continue.
  13. Read the Software License Agreement. Then click the Yes button to accept the terms of the agreement and continue.
  14. Select the install Destination Directory, then click Next to continue.
  15. Select the Program Folder, then click Next to continue.
  16. Click the Next button to begin installing the Application.
  17. Read the Last Minute Notes, then click Next to continue.
  18. Choose whether or not to view the DAZ|Studio ReadMe, then click Close to finish the sub-installer routine.
  19. Read the Bryce 6.0 Last Minute Notes, then click Next to continue.
  20. Once the installation has completed select the Close button.
  21. Next, install the preset files: br_ap006_Br6_Presets1.exe, br_ap006_Br6_Presets2.exe, br_ap006_Br6_Presets3.exe, and br_ap006_Br6_Presets4.exe. Bryce 6 will not work correctly without these presets and will crash when you attempt to access any of the libraries.
  22. Finally, install the Content files: br_ap006_Br6_Content1.exe, br_ap006_Br6_Content2.exe, and br_ap006_Br6_Content3.exe and the Sample Scenes: br_ap006_Br6_SmpScn.exe.
