Exporting the Terrain

The previous section gave the overview of exporting a terrain. The next few pages will give additional details along with images and detailed descriptions of the different features of the Export Terrain Lab.

1. Click the triangle icon in the top right corner of the Terrain Canvas.
   
   
2. Choose the Export option from the menu.
   
   
   
   The Save As dialog will come up.
3. Select a file type from the Save as type menu. Selecting the OBJ format will export an material file (MTL) with the textures linked to the terrain. This allows you to import the OBJ file into another program without having to manually locate and apply the textures.
   
   
4. Change the File name and click on Save.
   
   
   
   The Export Terrain Lab will come up.

The next pages will explain the different features of the lab so you can decide which options to use when exporting your terrain.
