Applying Gradient to Diffuse Channel
Although gradients are meant to be used only in the Terrain Editor, you can apply the gradient to the terrain's Diffuse channel. The gradient then becomes the terrain's Diffuse color. This allows you to render the gradient with the terrain.
To add a gradient to a terrain's Diffuse channel:
- Apply a gradient to the terrain in the Terrain Editor.
- Select Keep Gradient from the drop-down menu at the top right of the Terrain Canvas

- Exit the Terrain Editor and go into the Materials Lab. Terrains are created with a random material applied and in order to get the gradient to render on the terrain, the material has to be removed from the Diffuse channel.
- Remove the dot (or dots) from the Diffuse channel(s). You don't have to remove the other dots unless you don't want the original texture applied to those channels.

- Exit the Materials Lab and render. The gradient will render on the terrain.

Some items to note about applying Terrain Editor gradients to the diffuse channel:
- The original diffuse color will show in the color dot, not the gradient.
- Once applied, the gradients can be added to the Materials Library and applied to other terrains - Macs only. (PCs - Issue 16)
