To render a distance mask:
- Render the scene by rendering to screen or disk or as an animation.

- Click on the Render Options triangle next to the Render Controls and choose Altitude Mask from the menu.
Alternately, you can select the Altitude Mask option from the Render Options dialog.
- Click on the Render Options triangle next to the Render Controls and choose Render Options from the menu. The Render Options dialog will come up.

- Enable the Altitude Mask option under Projection & Masking.

- Render the scene. The scene will render in grayscale.
