Form: Set 2D View
It is sometimes easier to build a model while working in 2D elevation or plan views. Use the View menu > Set 2D View command to access the Set 2D View form and set the active window to a 2D View.
Note: It is
also possible to choose a plane by clicking one of the 2D
view buttons
, and
then using the up or down arrow buttons
to
move to an appropriate plane.
Click the View menu > Set 2D View command to access the Set 2D View form.
Note: The Set 2D View form is also accessed using the Define menu > Named Views command and the Add New 2D View from Ordinate option. That command can be used to save the settings applied to the 2D View so that the setting can be quickly reapplied to the active window using the View menu > Set Named View command.
Select the X-Y, X-Z or Y-Z plane. Fill in the edit box with the appropriate Z, Y or X coordinate.
Select the View Direction: Front or Back Face.
Click OK.
Use rubber band zoom to zoom into a window. Clicking once anywhere in the window will restore the original view.
Example: Use of this command is demonstrated in Problem S and Problem U.
