Use the Select menu > Select > Select Lines Parallel to > Coordinates Axes or Plane command to access the Select Lines form. Use the form to specify when line objects will be selected on the basis of their orientation relative to specified coordinate axes and planes, or line or area objects.
Select Lines That Are options.
Parallel to Specified Items option. When this option is chosen, line objects will be selected when those line objects are parallel (within the tolerance angle) to the specified axes, plane, line object, or area object.
Not Parallel To Specified Items options. When this option is chosen, line objects will be selected when those line objects are not parallel (within the tolerance angle) to the specified axes, plane, line object, or area object.
Compare Line Orientation To options.
Coordinate Axes and Planes option. When this option is selected, also choose the coordinate system and the axis or plane to which the line objects to be selected are parallel or are not parallel.
Coordinate System drop-down list. Choose the coordinate system for the objects to be selected.
Toggle Display Coordinate System button. This button is available if a coordinate system other than Global has been defined for the model. Clicking the button toggles the display/visibility of the alternate coordinate system on or off.
X Axis, Y Axis, Z Axis, XY Plane, XZ Plane, and YZ Plane options. Choose the axis or plane to which the line objects to be selected are or are not parallel (within the tolerance angle), depending on the option selected in the Select Lines That Are area of the form.
Line Objects option and Select One or More Line Objects display list. When this option is selected, the display list is added to the form. Select one or more line objects to which the line objects to be selected are or are not parallel (within the tolerance angle), depending on the option selected in the Select Lines That Are area of the form.
Area Objects option and Select One or More Area Objects display list. When this option is selected, the display list is added to the form. Select one or more area objects to which the line objects to be selected are or are not parallel (within the tolerance angle), depending on the option selected in the Select Lines That Are area of the form.
Clear button. When available, click this button to deselect all objects selected in the Select One or More Line Objects display list or the Select One or More Area Objects display list.
Tolerance Angle in Degrees options.
Default (0.057 degrees) option. When this option is selected, the tolerance angle is 0.057 degrees. Thus, line objects that are parallel or are not parallel within 0.057 degree of the specified axes, plane, or line or area object will be selected, depending on the option selected in the Select Lines That Are area of the form.
User Angle option and edit box. Use this option and the edit box to specify another tolerance angle. Line objects that are or are not parallel within the specified tolerance of the specified axes, plane, or line or area object will be selected, depending on the option selected in the Select Lines That Are area of the form.
