Form: Create CIS/2 Step File, Save CIS/2 Step File As, Standards, Material Property Standards Assignments, Frame Section Standards Assignments
Use the File menu > Export > CIS/2 Step File command to export a file using the CIMSteel Integration Standards (CIS). CIS is a set of formal computing specifications used in the steel industry to make software applications mutually compatible. This file type is often used by steel fabricators outside the United States.
Use the File menu > Export > CIS/2 Step File command to access the Create CIS/2 Step File form.
Click the Browse button on the Create CIS/2 Step File form to access the Save CIS/2 Step File As form and set the path and filename (with a .STP extension) for the file to be exported. Click the Save button to return to the Create CIS/2 Step File form, and as necessary, use the buttons and options on that form to set the standards for the materials and frame sections in the exported CIS/2 Step file.

Applied Loads Export Options. These options (Do Not Export Applied Loads, Export Member Loads Only, Export Element Loads Only) are assumed to be self-explanatory.
Other Export Option check boxes. When these check boxes are checked, the analysis results will be exported with the CIS/2 Step file, and the beam end length offsets will be exported as joint offsets.
Note: The Select Analysis Cases and Select Response Combinations button are only effective if an analysis was run before the File menu > Export > CIS/2 Step File command was used.
Select Analysis Cases button. Click the Select Analysis Cases button to access the Select Analysis Cases form, which will display the analysis cases used in the model analysis. Choose the analysis cases to be included in the CIS/2 Step export, or use the Clear All button to exclude the analysis cases from the export.
Select Response Combinations button. Click the Select Response Combinations button to access the Select Combination Definitions form. Choose the analysis response combination to be included in the CIS/2 Step export, or use the Clear All button to exclude the combinations from the export.
Export Selected Object Only check box. If objects are selected before the File menu > Export > Export CIS/2 Step File command is used, this check box will be checked. Only the selected items will be included in the export. Uncheck the check box to include all items in the export.
Click the OK button. SAP2000 will display a message when the CIS/2 Step file export is completed.
