Form: Expand/Shrink Areas
Use the Edit menu > Edit Areas > Expand/Shrink Areas command to access the Expand/Shrink Areas form. Use that form to specify offsets for area edges to make areas larger or smaller.
Select the object(s) to be made larger or smaller by (a) clicking on the object (which selects all edges of the object), (b) clicking on the edge(s) of the object(s), or (c) clicking on both the object(s) and a point(s) that defines the object(s). Both the object and a point must be selected because a point may be used to define more than one object.
Click the Edit menu > Edit Areas > Expand/Shrink Areas command to access the Expand/Shrink Areas form.
In the Offset area of the form, specify the distance that the selected edge(s) or point(s) is to be offset in the Offset Distance edit box. A positive value expands the area and a negative value shrinks the area. The offset distance is measured perpendicular to the area edge.
In the Expand/Shrink Options area, select the appropriate option:
Offset All Area Edges option. Use this option to offset all edges of the area object the distance specified in the Offset Distance edit box. Note that for this command, an object is considered selected if any single point or edge of the object has been selected.
Offset Selected Area Edges Only option. With an edge(s) selected, use this option to offset the selected edge(s) of the area object the distance specified in the Offset Distance edit box.
Offset Selected Points of Selected Areas Only option. With a point(s) selected, use this option to offset the selected point(s) of the area object the distance specified in the Offset Distance edit box. The offset for points is measured along a bisector angle formed by the area edges adjacent to the selected point(s).
