In some instances design sections may change several times (before the analysis is rerun) and then the design section for one or more frame objects may need to be restored to match the last used analysis section (i.e., the design section and the analysis section must match or the model may not have been designed for the correct forces).
While rerunning the analysis updates the analysis section to match the design section, the Design menu > Cold-Formed Steel Frame Design > Reset Design Section to Last Analysis command is a quick and easy way to reset the design section to match the last analysis section. The anticipated process would be as follows:
Run the analysis and use the Design menu > Cold-Formed Steel Frame Design > Start Design/Check of Structure.
Use the Interactive Cold-Formed Steel Frame Design or Change Design Section command to change the design sections.
Use the Start Design/Check of Structure command to update the design. For this example process, after review, portions of the updated design have been determined to be unnecessary or unacceptable.
Select the objects whose design sections are to be reset. If no objects have been selected, this command will not be available.
Click the Design menu > Cold-Formed Steel Frame Design > Reset Design Section to Last Analysis command to immediately reset the design section to match the last analysis section.
