Use the Standard Vehicle Data form to create a standard vehicle definition that can be added to a vehicle class.
Vehicle Name display box.
If the Standard Vehicle Data form was accessed using the Add Vehicle button on the Define Vehicle form, SAP2000 supplies a vehicle name in this display box. The name is based on the Vehicle Type selected; for example, if P9 is the selected Vehicle Type, the Vehicle Name is P9-1. If the P9 Vehicle Type is used again, the Vehicle Name is P9-2.
If the Standard Vehicle Data form was accessed using the Modify/Show Vehicle button on the Define Vehicle form, this display box shows the name of the standard vehicle definition selected on the Define Vehicle form before the Modify/Show Vehicle button was clicked.
Vehicle Type drop-down list. Select the Vehicle type from the drop-down list. Depending on the selected type, the Scale Factor or Dynamic Allowance edit box will become available.
Scale Factor edit box. Use the default value or enter a value in the Scale Factor edit box. The integer scale factor specifies the nominal weight of the vehicle in a specific set of units. For H & HS vehicles the units are tons. For UIC vehicles the units are kN/m. For HA and HB vehicles the units are nK.
Dynamic Allowance edit box. Use the default value or enter a value in the Dynamic Allowance edit box. A dynamic load allowance is the additive percentage by which the concentrated truck or tandem axle loads will be increased. The uniform lane load is not affected. Thus, if the dynamic allowance equals 33, all concentrated axle loads for the vehicle will be multiplied by the factor 1.33.
Show As General Vehicle button. This button is enabled if a vehicle definition was highlighted on the Define Vehicle form and the Modify/Show Vehicle button was clicked to display the Standard Vehicle Data form. When the Show As General Vehicle button is clicked, the General Vehicle Data form appears, displaying the selected definition as a general definition. Use this button/form to review the general definition for a standard vehicle without converting the standard vehicle to a general vehicle (see next bullet).
Convert To General Vehicle button. Click this button to convert the Standard Vehicle definition to a General Vehicle definition. After a Standard Vehicle definition has been converted to a General Vehicle definition the conversion cannot be undone, so be sure that you want to make the conversion before clicking this button. Use the Show As General Vehicle button, as explained above, to review the definition before performing the conversion.
