Concrete Shell Section Design Parameters Form

Access the Concrete Shell Section Design Parameters form as follows:

Click the Define menu > Area Sections command, or select an area object(s) and click the Assign menu > Area > Sections command, to access the Area Sections form.
Choose Shell from the Select Section Type To Add drop-down list.
Click the Add New Property button to display the Shell Section Data form. Alternatively, highlight a previously defined shell section definition and click the Add Copy of Section or the Modify/Show Section button to display the Shell Section Data form.
Select CONC (concrete) from the Material Name drop-down list.
Click the Modify/Show Shell Design Parameters button to display the Concrete Shell Section Design Parameters form.

Use the Concrete Shell Section Design Parameters form to specify the rebar layout for the concrete shell definition.

Section Names display box. This is the label given to the area section property on the Shell Section Data form.
Rebar Layout Options. Choose the appropriate option for the rebar used in the section

Default option. When this option is selected, the program uses two layers and the cover is 0.1 times the thickness of the section as specified on the Shell Section Data form.
One Layer option. When this option is selected, one layer of rebar is used. Placement of the layer is measured from the top of the section. Use the Top Bar - Direction 1 and Top Bar Direction 2 edit boxes to specify placement of the rebar.
Two Layers option. When this option is selected, two layers of rebar are used. Placement of the layers is measured from the top and the bottom of the section. Use the Top Bar - Direction 1, Top Bar Direction 2, Bottom Bar - Direction 1, and Bottom Bar Direction 2 edit boxes to specify placement of the rebar.

Directions 1 and 2 are the local axes directions of the area object.
