Parametric Variations - Quick Start Form

Access the Parametric Variations - Quick Start form, with the Bridge Modeler License enabled, as follows:

Method 1

Click the Bridge menu > Parametric Variations command, or on the Bridge Wizard highlight the Parametric Variations item and click the Define/Show Variation button, to display the Define Parametric Variations form.
Click the Add New Variation button, or highlight an existing parametric definition and click the Add Copy of Variation or Modify/Show Variation button, to display the Variation Definition form.
Click the Quick Start button on the right side of the form to display the Parametric Variations - Quick Start form.

Method 2

Click the Bridge menu > Bridge Objects command, or on the Bridge Wizard select the Bridge Object Definition item and click the Define/Show Bridge Objects button, to display the Define Bridge Objects form. At least a layout line and a bridge deck section must be defined for this command to be available.
Click the Add New Bridge Object button or highlight a previously defined bridge object in the Bridge Objects area of the form and click the Add Copy of Bridge Object or Modify/Show Bridge Object button to display the Bridge Object Data form.
Click the Modify/Show Spans button to display the Bridge Object Span Definition form.
In the spreadsheet area, highlight the variation to be reviewed/changed and click the Modify/Show Section Variation Along Selected Span button to display the Bridge Section Variation Definition form.
Click the Define/Show Variations button to display the Define Parametric Variations form.
Click the Add New Variation button or highlight a previously defined variation definition and click the Add Copy of Variation or Modify/Show Variation button to display the Variation Definition form.
Click the Quick Start button on the right side of the form to display the Parametric Variations - Quick Start form.

Use the Parametric Variations - Quick Start form to specify a parametric variation using template alignments.

Select a Quick Start Option area. Several linear, circular, parabolic, and combination alignments have been included as default templates. Choose an alignment option for the variation by clicking on it. If the exact alignment is not shown, choosing one that is close can help speed the specification process because the template alignment can be modified after the OK button on this form has been clicked.
Set the Span Length for Parametric Variation area. In this area of the form, choose to use previously defined segments or to specify an individual segment span.

Select Defined Bridge Span option. When this option is selected, use the drop-down list to specify the Bridge Object and the Span ID to be used to define the span segment when applying the selected template. Thus, after a segment has been defined in a Bridge Object, that definition can be reused in any parametric variation definitions within the same model file. The selections available in the Span ID drop-down list depend on the Bridge Object selected in the Bridge Object drop-down list. If this option is not available, no bridge spans have been defined for the model.
User Specified Span Length option. When this option is selected, also provide a value in the Span Length edit box to specify the length of the parametric variation in the current units measured from the left end of the bridge.

Units drop-down list. Use the displayed units or select revised units from the list for use on this form.
OK button When this button is clicked, the selected alignment will automatically transfer to the spreadsheet area of the Variation Definition form, where it can be reviewed, and if necessary, further refined.
