Define Parabolic Tendon {Vertical or Horizontal} Layout by Points Form

Access the Define Parabolic Tendon {Vertical or Horizontal} Layout by Points form, with the Bridge Modeler license enabled, as follows:

  1. Click the Bridge menu > Bridge Objects command, or on the Bridge Wizard select the Bridge Object Definition item and click the Define/Show Bridge Objects button, to display the Define Bridge Objects form. At least a layout line and a bridge deck section must be defined for this command to be available.

  2. Click the Add New Bridge Object button or highlight a previously defined bridge object in the Bridge Objects area of the form and click the Add Copy of Bridge Object or Modify/Show Bridge Object button to display the Bridge Object Data form.

  3. Click the Modify/Show Bridge Prestress button to display the Define Prestress Tendon form.

  4. Click the Add New Tendon button, or highlight a previously defined tendon in the Tendon display area and click the Add Copy of Tendon or Modify/Show Tendon button to display the Bridge Tendon Data form.

  5. Click the Quick Start button (near the Edit Vertical Layout button or the Edit Horizontal Layout button) to display the Tendon Quick Start form.

  6. Choose one of the Parabolic Tendon options and click the OK button to display the Define Parabolic Tendon {Vertical or Horizontal} Layout by Points form.

Note that clicking the Quick Start button on the Tendon Horizontal Layout Data or Tendon Vertical Layout Data form will also display the Tendon Quick Start form (Step 6). As described in Step 7, choose a Parabolic Tendon option and click the OK button to display the Define Parabolic Tendon {Vertical or Horizontal} Layout by Points form.

 

Use the Define Parabolic Tendon {Vertical or Horizontal} Layout by Points form to specify the vertical or horizontal layout of the tendon by specifying the number of points needed to define the tendon layout, the location of those points, the offset type, the vertical or horizontal offset distance, and the slope type and ratio.
