Bridge Tendon Layout Display Form

Access the Bridge Tendon Layout Display form, with the Bridge Modeler enabled, as follows:

Click the Bridge menu > Bridge Objects command, or on the Bridge Wizard select the Bridge Object Definition item and click the Define/Show Bridge Objects button, to display the Define Bridge Objects form. At least a layout line and a bridge deck section must be defined for this command to be available.
Click the Add New Bridge Object button, or highlight a previously defined bridge object in the Bridge Objects area of the form and click the Add Copy of Bridge Object or Modify/Show Bridge Object button, to display the Bridge Object Data form.
Click the Modify/Show Bridge Prestress button to display the Define Prestress Tendon form.
Click the Add New Tendon button, or highlight a previously defined tendon in the Tendon display area and click the Add Copy of Tendon or Modify/Show Tendon button, to display the Bridge Tendon Data form and then double click on the drawing shown in the Tendon Layout Display area.

Alternatively, if a tendon(s) has already been defined, click the Show All Tendons button on the Define Prestress Tendon form to display the Bridge Tendon Layout Display form.

As the name suggests, the Bridge Tendon Layout Display form displays all defined tendons in Elevation, Plan, and Section (cross-section) views. The S display box associated with the Elevation view is the location of the mouse pointer relative to the start of the bridge. The Z, X, and Y display boxes associated with the Elevation and Plan views show the mouse pointer location relative to the specified Coordinate System (see below). The X' and Y' display boxes associated with the Section view show the mouse pointer location relative to a local coordinate system for the bridge section.

To zoom into any location, use the mouse to draw a window over the area of interest in any of the views. Use the Zoom Full button to restore the view to its default display. The Section view has a horizontal slide bar. Drag the scroll bar to the right or the left to review the layout of the cross-section.

Use the options on the form and move the mouse over the display to review the tendon layout.

Units drop-down list. Use the displayed units or select new units from the drop-down list for use on this form.
Coordinate System drop-down list. Use the drop-down list to select a coordinate system other than global if one has been defined (see Define Coordinate Systems/Grids for more information about defining a coordinate system).
Snap to This Item. Use the snap features to control the display of data for the mouse pointer location as the mouse is moved over the Elevation, Plan, or Section view.

None option. When this option is chosen, no snaps are enabled and, as the mouse pointer is moved over any of the displays, the location of the mouse pointer will display in the S, Z, X, Y, and X' and Y' display boxes.
Reference Line option. When this option is chosen, SAP2000 displays a small red dot that snaps to the reference line and displays the coordinate data for that point along the reference line.
Tendon option. When this option is chosen, SAP2000 displays a small red dot that snaps to the tendon and displays the coordinate data for that point along the tendon.

Snap to this Span Location. Use these options in conjunction with the Reference Line and Tendon options.

Anywhere Along Span option. When this option is chosen, the red dot will snap to any location along the Reference Line or Tendon.
Every 1/___ of Span option. When this option is chosen, also specify the denominator of the fraction to specify a portion of the span. The red dot will snap to the Reference Line or Tendon in the specified fractional portion of the specified span.

Mouse Pointer Location. Use these options to specify the span of interest and the location along that span.

Span drop-down list. Select the span from the drop-down list. If the mouse pointer is moved to another span, this drop-down list is updated automatically.
Span Dist. edit box. The span distance is measured from the left edge of the span.
Tendon Dist. edit box/display box. When this form is accessed by double clicking on the Tendon Layout Display area of the Tendon Data form, the Tendon Dist. edit box/display box is added to the form. As the mouse pointer moves over any of the views, the location of the mouse pointer along the tendon is displayed relative to the Reference Line or Tendon, depending on which option is selected in the Snap to This Item area of the form.

Move Tendon button. When this form is accessed by double clicking on the Tendon Layout Display area of the Tendon Data form, the Move Tendon button is added to the form. Click this button to access the Move Prestress Tendon form; use that form to specify that the selected tendon be moved a specified distance, to specified offsets, or to be centered horizontally in a selected girder.
