Use the Bridge Object Hinge Definition form to review, and if necessary modify, the hinge property, distance and bearing, and to add the hinge definition to the bridge object definition.
Bridge Object Name display box. This name identifies the bridge object to which the bent applies.
Units drop-down list. Use the displayed units or select new units from the drop-down list.
Hinge (Expansion Joint) Definition:
Span drop-down list. The spans associated with the bridge object are shown in this drop-down list. Select the span for which the hinge is being reviewed or modified.
Hinge Property drop-down list. The names in this drop-down list identify hinge property definitions previously defined for the bridge hinge. If the None option is selected, no section property is defined/assigned to the hinge. This option is intended for use when the user wants to assign hinge properties after the model has been created (using the Assign menu > Frame > Hinges command) rather than using one of the hinge property options provided in the bridge modeler.
Distance edit box. This edit box displays the distance from the left edge of the structure to the hinge. Type a revised value in this edit box to specify a new hinge location.
Bearing edit box. Use this edit box to specify the bearing for the hinge.
Add button. With selections and entries made in the Span and Hinge Property drop-down lists and Distance and Bearing edit boxes, click the Add button to add the hinge definition.
Modify button. Highlight a previously defined definition, make the necessary changes and then click the Modify button to update the data.
Delete button. Highlight a previously defined definition and click the Delete button to remove the selected data.
