Method 1
Method 2

Use the Bridge Object Data form to define the bridge spans and their vertical and horizontal alignments and assemble the various components comprising the bridge (e.g., the abutments, bents, tendons). At least a bridge layout line and a deck section must be defined before the Bridge Object Data form can be accessed.
Bridge Object Name edit box. Use the default name or specify a new name.
Coordinate System drop-down list. Displays the coordinate system to be used in defining the bridge. Use the drop-down list to select a coordinate system other than global if one has been defined (see Define Coordinate Systems/Grids for more information about defining a coordinate system).
Units drop-down list. Use the displayed units or select new units from the drop-down list.
Define Bridge Object Reference Line
Span Label edit box. Use this edit box to specify/revise the span label used to identify the span. The two default labels (SpanStart and SpanToEnd) define the beginning and end of the bridge model and therefore cannot be deleted.
Bridge Object Span Type drop-down list. Use the available options to define the bridge spans from left to right along the length of the bridge. Define a span from the abutment to a station or a bent or from a station to another station or bent by selecting the appropriate option or sequence of options.
Layout Line Name drop-down list. Choose the appropriate option from this list of previously defined layout line names. The individual spans of the bridge can be defined relative to different layout lines, if necessary.
Station edit box. If Span to Station is selected in the Bridge Object Span Type drop-down list, specify the station location in the current units from the left edge of the bridge to locate the station.
Item Label edit box. Use the default name for the abutment or the bent, or type a revised name in this edit box.
Make the appropriate entries in the above drop-down lists and edit boxes and then use the Insert Above, Insert Below, Modify, or Delete buttons to complete the definitions.

Modify/Show SuperElevation button. Click this button to display the Bridge Object SuperElevation Definition form. Use the form to specify the superelevation for the selected layout line.
Modify/Show Bridge Prestress button. Click this button to display the Define Prestress Tendons form. Use the form to add, modify, or delete prestress tendon definitions for the bridge model.
Bridge Object Plan View (X-Y Projection) display area. An X-Y view of the bridge alignment is displayed in this area of the form. Move the cursor across the view and the coordinates of the cursor appear in the X and Y display boxes to the right of the view. By default, the bridge layout line is displayed in black, the bridge spans are displayed in red, and the bridge abutments, bent and hinges are displayed in green, dark blue and light blue, respectively.
Snap To. Use the snap features to control the display of data for the cursor location.
None. When this option is chosen, the cursor will not snap to anything and can be moved freely over the display area.
Ref. Line. When this option is chosen, SAP2000 snaps the cursor to the reference line and displays various data to the right of the view when the cursor passes over the reference line. As the cursor moves along the reference line, SAP2000 displays the span name and the distance and super elevation associated with the point along the reference line, and the X, Y and Z coordinates for the cursor.
Layout Line. When this option is chosen, SAP2000 snaps the cursor to the layout line and displays various data to the right of the view when the cursor passes over the layout line. As the cursor moves along the layout line, SAP2000 displays the Layout Line name, the Station location of the cursor along the layout line, and the bearing, the radius, and grade of the layout line at the cursor location, and the X, Y and Z coordinates for the cursor.
Abutment, Bent, Hinge, Diaph. When this option is chosen, SAP2000 snaps the cursor to the abutment, bent, hinge, or diaphragm and displays various data to the right of the view when the cursor passes over the abutment, bent, hinge or diaphragm. As the cursor moves along an abutment, bent, hinge, or diaphragm, SAP2000 displays the Abutment, Bent, Hinge, or Diaphragm Label (as specified in the Item Label edit box on this form) and the abutment, bent, hinge, or diaphragm property, type, and the bearing, as well as the X, Y and Z coordinates for the cursor along the abutment, bent, hinge, or diaphragm.
Show Span Labels in Sketch. When this check box is checked, SAP2000 displays the Span Label (as specified in the Span Label display box on this form).
