Bridge Object Abutment Definition Form

Access the Bridge Object Abutment Definition form, with the Bridge Modeler enabled, as follows:

Click the Bridge menu > Bridge Objects command, or on the Bridge Wizard select the Bridge Object Definition item and click the Define/Show Bridge Objects button, to display the Define Bridge Objects form. At least a layout line and a bridge deck section must be defined for this command to be available.
Click the Add New Bridge Object button, or highlight a previously defined bridge object in the Bridge Objects area of the form and click the Add Copy of Bridge Object or Modify/Show Bridge Object button, to display the Bridge Object Data form.
Click the Modify/Show Abutments button to display the Bridge Object Abutment Definition form.

Use the Bridge Object Abutment Definition form to review, and if necessary modify, the abutment property and bearing.

Bridge Object Name display box. This name identifies the bridge object to which the abutment applies.
Abutment Definition spreadsheet area:

Abutment. This column displays the names of the beginning and ending bridge abutments.
Property. The names in this drop-down list in this column identify previously defined abutment property definitions. If the None option is selected, no restraints, partial fixity springs or links are created by the bridge modeler at the abutment. This option is intended for use when the user wants to assign abutment restraint properties after the model has been created (using the Assign menu > Joint > Restraints, Assign menu > Joint > Springs, or Assign menu > Link/Support > Link/Support Properties command) rather than using one of the abutment restraint property options provided in the bridge modeler.
Bearing. Specify the bearing for the abutment using this column.
