Form: Assign Lane
Use the Assign menu > Frame > Lane command to access the Assign Lane form and assign frame objects to defined lanes as part of a bridge analysis process.
Draw at least one straight frame object in the model.
Use the Define menu > Bridge Loads > Lanes command to define a lane(s).
Select the straight frame to be assigned to the previously defined lane(s).
Note: The frame members defining the lane should be nearly contiguous and progress in a consistent longitudinal direction. A frame member can be a part of more then one lane.
Click the Assign menu > Frame > Lane command to access the Assign Lane form.
Lane. Select the lane to be assigned to the selected frame object(s).
Eccentricity. Enter an eccentricity for the lane relative to the frame member. The units for the eccentricity are the same as the current length units.
Modify/Show Lane button. If necessary, click the Modify/Show Lane button to access the Lane Data form and edit the order of the frame objects and their eccentricities.
Note: If the Bridge Wizard or Bridge menu > Lanes command is used to add a lane to a bridge model, this process is unnecessary. Also note, however, that a special license is required to use the Bridge Wizard and the commands on the Bridge menu.
