Make Preview
Make Preview creates a preview of the rendered animation. The preview will be played using the default player of the computer on which CINEMA 4D is running. Enhanced OpenGL offers excellent render quality when creating preview movies.
Preview Mode
Use these settings to define the quality of the preview render. In addition to such settings as Software Shading, OpenGL, Enhanced OpenGL, an animation in full render quality (Full Render reflects the current render settings) can be put out. The Enhanced OpenGL option lets you define 3 additional options: Transparency, Shadow and Post Effects. Additional information regarding this special OpenGL mode can be found under Enhanced OpenGL in this reference manual.
All Frames
The animation will be rendered in its entirety.
Preview Range
Only those frames withing the preview range will be rendered.
Manual
Only those frames defined within the From and To range will be rendered.
Image Size
Enter the width for the preview movie. The height is calculated automatically using the Film Format ratio defined on the render settings Output page. The resolution is shown to the right of the input box.
CINEMA 4D lets you use mathematical formulae in input boxes. For example, if you want the preview resolution to be a quarter of 640 x 480, you can enter ‘640/4’ into the Image Size input box.
Frame Rate

QuickTime, AVI, Options
The preview is rendered as a QuickTime or an AVI movie depending on which option is enabled. To choose a particular codec and edit its settings, click Options.
