QuickDrill Create Hole Groups

Your Ad Here

The system performs an analysis of the part based on the parameters entered into the Automatic Groups Creation dialog. This analysis divides the holes into groups according to hole type, geometry and attributes.

Interaction

The Automatic Groups Creation dialog is displayed.

  1. Define the parameters to be used to perform the analysis of the holes.

  2. Press OK to commence the analysis and to display the next stage in the QuickDrill Guide - Hole Group Management.

Parameters

UCS List

Choose the UCS that defines the drilling direction. This can be done either by:

  1. Selecting the UCS from the UCS List combo box.

  2. Picking the UCS graphically.

Calculate Opposite

Calculate the holes that need to be drilled on the opposite side of the part (those holes that have a drilling direction that is opposite to the UCS selected in the UCS List).

Clearance Plane

The level at which the cutter starts and ends its movements.

Angle Tol.

The angle that defines whether a hole is considered as straight. If the hole's angle of deviation is within the set tolerance, the hole is considered as straight.

General Tol.

The concentric tolerance value. If the centers of multiple holes are within tolerance value, the centers are considered concentric and the holes are considered as a single hole.

Precision

The precision of the size of the cutters required to drill the holes.

Min. Material Removal

The minimum amount of material removed by each cutter. This is the difference between the diameter of the previous cutter and the diameter of the next cutter.

Change to Mill

The diameter from which holes are considered too large to be drilled. These holes will be milled using the Pocket function.

Mill Name

Set the mill cutter to be used to mill holes with a diameter => the Change to Mill parameter value.

Mill Type

Set the mill cutter type.

Taper Tool Name

Set the taper cutter used to create the tapers. The taper cutter selected defines the taper angle (the Deg. value in the dialog).

Global Taper Angle

Check to create all tapers the same angle as the selected taper tool.
Uncheck to create each taper as defined in the geometry of the corresponding hole.

Taper Diam. Overlap

Set the taper overshoot diameter.

Process Version

Select the Process Version to be used to create the drilling process.

Units

The units of measurement of the document.

Rebuild

Delete all analyses created in the current session and then rebuild the analyses.
