Define the drilling process plan for each type of hole.

The Process Plan dialog is displayed:

The Process Plan displays:

  1. The hole types available.

  2. The Process Sequence. This is a list of the drill processes of each hole type.

  1. Buttons to control the drill processes. These include:

Change the drill process order.
Select a drill process and use the arrow buttons to move the process up or down the list.

Edit a process.

Delete a process.

Create a new process.

  1. The cutter types available, including a .picture of the cutter type.

  2. Process sequence sets.

Process Sequence Parameters

No

The drilling sequence number (set automatically).

Title

The user-defined name for the drilling sequence.

Min. Dia.

Enter the Minimum Diameter Range Limit. This defines the minimum diameter of the cutter to be used for this process.
An expression can be entered into this field.
For example:

Max. Dia.

Enter the Maximum Diameter Range Limit. This defines the maximum diameter of the cutter to be used for this process.
An expression can be entered into this field.

For example:

Z End

Set the depth to which the cutter will drill.
An expression can be entered into this field.

For example:

Depth by

This defines which part of the cutter reaches the set Depth. Choose one of the following drop-down options:
Full Diameter
, Tool Tip and Chamfer Diameter.

Chamfer Dia

Define the width of the chamfer diameter.

Quality

Choose one of the following options:
Rough, Drill Finish, Reaming and Counter Sink.

Rough: A tool having the diameter in the given range (>Min. Dia and <Max.Dia.) can be used.

Drill Finish: Only a drill tool having the exact diameter can be used.

Reamer: Only a reamer having the exact diameter can be used.

Counter Sink: Only a counter sink tool having the large (upper) diameter >Max. Dia. the small (lower) diameter <Min. Dia. can be used.

Tapping: Only a tap having the exact diameter can be used.

Cutter Type

Select the type of cutter to be used by the new process. A picture of the cutter type is displayed.

Creating a New Process

To create a new process plan:

  1. Select a row - after which you wish to create a new process.

  2. Press the New Process button .
A new process is created after the currently selected process.
In the example below, row 1 is selected and the New Process button is pressed.

A new process is entered after the selected row. This new process is now the new row 2.
Notice that the new process has some of the same parameters as the selected row.

  1. Set the new process plan parameters.

  1. Press Apply to create the new process plan.
To change the drill process order, select a drill process and use the arrow buttons to move the process up or down the list.

Modifying a Process

To modify a process plan:

  1. Press the Edit Process button (by default, this button is already pressed).

  1. Modify the process plan parameters.

  1. Press Apply to create the new process plan.
To change the drill process order, select a drill process and use the arrow buttons to move the process up or down the list.

Deleting a Process

To delete a process plan:

  1. Select the process plan to be deleted (in this case # 2).

  1. Press the Delete button . A warning prompt is displayed.

  1. Select Yes to delete the process plan.

Process Sequence Sets

Up to ten drill sequence sets can be created - five in mm and five in inches. These sets enable you to create different sets of drilling sequences for each hole type.

By default, the current system defined parameters are stored in two sets V1-mm and V1-inches. The remaining sets are initially empty.

You can create a new set of drill process sequences either by defining new processes in a different Set, or by copying existing processes from one Set to another and then editing them.

Active Set

The Active Set is the set according to which the default cutters sequence is calculated. This set (eg. V1-mm) is displayed when accessing the process plan.

Change the active set by:

  1. Selecting the new set (eg. V2 -mm).

  2. Pressing the Apply button .

Note: Change the name of a Set by double-clicking the set button and entering an appropriate name.

New Processes in a Different Set

  1. Press a set button, for example V2.

Notice that, initially, the process sequence is empty.

  1. Use the create a new process button or the edit process button to create/edit the drilling processes.

Copy Processes from one Set to another

To copy all the drilling processes from Set V1 to Set V2:

  1. Press the Set Copy button .

A prompt is displayed at the bottom of the dialog.

  1. Drag the V1 button and drop it on top of the V2 button.

The following prompt is displayed

Press Yes to copy all the drill processes from V1 to V2.

  1. Use the create a new process button , the edit process button or the delete button to create/edit/delete the drilling processes.
