Remove material by revolving a closed sketch / composite curve to either the closest face, or to a chosen reference face.
Important: When using this function, material will be removed only from the current active object. (If only one object exists in the document it is automatically active unless manually deactivated.) See Activate / Deactivate and Activating Objects.
Required Step 1 ![]()
Select a closed 2D composite curve or sketch.
Notes:
If you enter Revolve immediately after creating a closed 2D composite curve or sketch, the entity is automatically included in Step 1.
If you select a sketch that contains more than one closed curve sequence, all closed curve sequences will be extruded. In order for a sketch to be selected, however, it must contain only closed curve sequences.

Select the axis of revolution. This axis can be an edge, datum axis, or line.

To Closest
Choose One Side if you want to revolve to the closest face on one side of the contour. You can flip the direction by clicking on the arrow.

Toggle One Side to Both Sides to revolve to the closest faces in both directions.

To Reference
If you want to revolve the contour to a specific face or datum plane, choose To Reference. Select the reference face or plane.

Press exit
when finished. Press OK
