Required Step 1 
Select the object (open or closed) to be cut by an open object. In this case, the blue face is selected. Press exit .

Select the cutting tool, in this case the open yellow cylinder.
Press OK

In order to view the result, select the Filter Objects icon, pick the yellow cylinder (cutting object), and select the Hide icon to view how the object was cut.
