These functions are used to create surfaces - 2D or 3D entities that have area but no thickness.
Note: Newly created faces are automatically stitched to adjacent active faces if they completely share a common edge. If you do not want auto-stitching, make sure that objects containing the adjacent faces are deactivated. See Activate / Deactivate and Activating Faces.

Create a face by sweeping curve, edge, contour or sketch in a user-defined direction.
Create a face of revolution by rotating curves/contour / sketches by a given angle about an axis of rotation.
Create one or more faces by driving sections over rails and/or spines.
Create a blend face between edges, sketches, contours, curves and points.
Create a face with known boundaries.
Enables the user to create one single face out from a sequence of smooth faces.
Creates a number of untrimmed faces.
Create a mesh face by defining its sections and cross section curves.
Create a surface (solid) that interpolates a series of sections with a guide curve.
Create round faces or surfaces between two groups of faces.
Enables the user to create one or more faces from a sequence of smooth faces.
Create a face at an offset to another face.
Extend a face or create a new face on an existing open-edged face.
Create a face that is tangent to a face and goes through a curve.
Create a face that is tangent to two other faces.
Add draft angles (draft surfaces) to a rounded part.
Stitch faces that are separate objects into one object.
Separate faces of objects into individual objects.
Split (divide) one or more faces by a point, curve, edge, contour, face or plane.
Create a silhouette curve(s) on a face(s) according to a defined direction and split these face(s) by the created silhouette curve(s).
Trim a face by point, curve, edge, contour, face or plane.
Increase the natural boundaries of a face, or remove islands.
Modify the boundaries of a face by changing them on a projected sketch
Simplify a face by approximating analytical faces. This can be used to reduce "waviness" of a face.
Modify the slope of an edge of a face.
Deform a face or a group of stitched faces by applying a single constraint or set of constraints on the faces.
Join stitched faces smoothly and control edge properties. |
Note: If you have imported a file from another system, including Cimatron it, you can check and fix problematic faces using the Tools / CheckEntity function.
