Define the material properties of the part. The material properties define how a part reflects light.
The Materials dialog is displayed.

Properties:

Define the Preview mode.

AutoPreview, results in dynamic changes in the display when material parameters are changed.

Manual, enables you to view the effects of parameter changes when you press .

Ambient: This light consists of uniform, nondirectional light of any color that illuminates all parts of the model equally, without regard to direction, location of surfaces or shading. Since all portions of your model receive some illumination, the depth of the shadows is reduced. Ambient light is attributable to the reflection of light off surfaces in the environment.

Diffusion: Light reflected from a diffuse surface is scattered equally in all directions; dull reflection.

Specularity: Highlights reflected from the surface; shiny reflection. Glossiness and shininess are attributes controlled by specularity.

Shininess: The amount of surface reflection alternating between glossy and dull.

Emission: The amount of light projected from the surface.

Load:

Load a previously saved material properties file.


Save:

Save a material properties file.


OK:

Accept the settings and exit the function.


Cancel:

Exit the option.
