The Properties is the right pane of the Cimatron E Explorer.
This pane displays information on the document indicated in the middle pane. Initially, this includes a preview picture of the document and system generated data. You can add additional information that you decide is important in finding/identifying your files. This information can be used as search criteria when running a query.
This pane contains the following tabs:
Resetting and Submitting Changes
Navigating this pane
Click the arrow icons to open and close the various tabs in this pane.

Initially, when saving for the first time, this pane is empty.

At the first save the system enters default data into this pane, including a picture of the document contents, and data in the General and Advanced tabs.
The system automatically inserts a picture of the document contents.

This tab displays the General document attributes.
System generated attributes are displayed in the right hand column of this tab. Attributes values on a gray background cannot be changed. If the document is not open, some of the attributes can be changed; these are displayed on a white background and can either be free text, selected from a drop-down menu, or a check box. However, once the document is opened, the document attributes are locked and cannot be changed from the Cimatron E Explorer.
This user-entered information, can be used as search criteria when running a query.

Notes:
Attribute modifications that are done to a part using the Properties Pane of the Cimatron E Explorer, will be updated automatically within the BOM when loading the Drafting document.
The Standard Number attribute is an exception, as this attribute affects the BOM topology (the number of rows in a Purchase List may change due to a change in this attribute). Therefore, if the Standard Number attribute was changed through the Cimatron E Explorer, the Assembly document should be opened first in order to update the BOM in the drawing.
It is highly recommended to modify the Standard Number attribute (as well as other BOM-related attributes) through the BOM in the Assembly document.
The Ignore
in BOM attribute indicates whether a component is excluded from
the BOM (attribute value = true)
or included in the BOM (attribute value = false).
This attribute is not accessible from the Cimatron E Explorer. In the
Assembly environment, the
following additional operations are available from the BOM
Table Editor (for the All
Parts option only):
Exclude from BOM -
exclude a component from the BOM.
Include in BOM
- include a component (that was previously excluded) from the BOM.
Resetting and Submitting Changes
Changes to the data in this pane may be submitted or reset.
If you select Reset Changes, this deletes all user-entered data and reverts to the default system generated data.

A confirmation dialog is displayed. Select OK or Cancel.

If you select Submit Changes, all the changes are entered into the system. Once the document is opened, this option is not available as the document attributes are locked and cannot be changed from the Cimatron E Explorer. See the General and Advanced tab explanations.
