Access: Click
the Clear Selection icon 
, or select Edit / Select
/ Clear Selection,
or select Clear Selection from
a popup menu in the Feature
Tree.
Use Clear Selection to clear all the entities you have selected.
The entities will no longer be highlighted, meaning that they are not selected.
