Creating a Stock from a Multi-Axis Stock

Define a stock procedure that calculates the remaining stock of the previous 2.5 and 3X procedures independent of their orientation.

This prevents tool breakage and improves machining efficiency in cases where the motions of one procedure changes the stock shape, as viewed from another procedure in another direction

The following dialog is used for stock creation from a multi-axis stock (check the Advanced Options box to display additional parameters):

Note: This dialog has the following states:

  1. Suspended stock (or invoked for the first time):

  1. Executed stock:

Transparency: Move the slider to adjust the transparency of the stock display.

Auto Preview: this box must be checked in order to see the stock on the graphic display. If this box is not checked, the three display icons (color, shade and show) will be disabled.

Stock display buttons:

Ref. Stock Size: Based on the entities you have selected, this area shows the size of the stock. The values are for reference only and cannot be changed in this dialog.

Check the Advanced Options box to display the following parameters:

Source Stock

Update by Procedures

Source Stock: Set the stock from which the material removal calculation starts.

First Stock in Document

The first defined stock in the document.

Previous non "Multi-Axis"

The last "physical" stock before the current stock. A physical stock is any stock type, other than a Multi-Axis Stock.

Update by Procedures: Controls which procedures update the source stock.

From the first in the document

Considers all the procedures in the document, until the current stock.

From the Source stock

Disregards all procedures prior to the source stock (defined in the Source Stock parameter - above).

1st corner, 2nd corner: Based on the entities you have selected, this area shows the coordinates of the diagonal of the bounding box. The values are for reference only and cannot be changed in this dialog.

Enable Recalculation: Suspends the stock thereby forcing the procedure to be recalculated during execution.

When you are finished, press one of the stock approval buttons .
